Follow our simple step-by-step process to become a member of the Royal Omani Amateur Radio Society.

Procedures for Obtaining Membership

To ensure an organized and professional membership process, the Society has approved the following procedures.

Application Requirements

  1. Complete the Membership Application Form (paper).
  2. Attach the following documents:
    • Copy of the National ID
    • Two (2) passport-size photographs with white background
    • Mobile number and email address for communication
  3. Pay the application processing fee of RO 2.000.

Interview & Verification

  1. 4. Attend an introductory session with the Membership.
  2. 5. The Committee will review the application and documents, then formulate a recommendation.
  3. 6. Approved applications are forwarded to the concerned licensing authority.

Membership Approval

7. Once approval is received, the applicant will be notified to pay the annual membership fee of RO 20.000.

8. Upon payment, the applicant will receive:

  • Official Membership Number
  • Membership Card (SWL)
  • Access credentials to any internal communication channels or systems (if applicable)

Member Rights

9. Registered members are entitled to:

  • Attend Society training courses
  • Participate in official activities, events, and contests
  • Benefit from educational programs related to amateur licensing

Member Obligations

  1. 10. Comply with the Society's internal regulations and bylaws.
  2. 11. Adhere to all national telecommunications laws in the Sultanate of Oman.
  3. 12. Follow radio station usage etiquette and respect fellow operators.
  4. 13. Renew membership annually before expiry.
